Memorial Day 2011

MEMORIAL DAY this year is May 30th. This is the day we set aside to remember the Veterans who gave their life for our country.

According to Wikipedia Memorial Day was:

Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. citizens who died while on military service.[1] First enacted to honor Union and Confederate soldiers following the American Civil War,[2] it was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars.

It is the VETERAN,  not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN,  not the reporter,  who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN,  not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN who salutes the Flag,

It is the VETERANwho serves under the Flag.

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

Makes you proud to be an AMERICAN!!!!!
